about

"The catastrophic raid on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, served as a harrowing precursor to the heart-wrenching Oklahoma City bombing. After a 51-day standoff, the compound was consumed by an inferno, tragically claiming the lives of 76 Branch Davidians. This shocking event not only raised profound concerns about government tactics but starkly illuminated the extent of government overreach. Timothy McVeigh, deeply affected by this egregious abuse of power, orchestrated the Oklahoma City bombing as an act of retribution. The explosive devastation took the lives of 168 people and left over 500 injured, marking one of the deadliest acts of domestic terrorism. The Waco raid became a rallying cry, highlighting the alarming consequences of government overreach and the urgent need for peaceful resolutions to address grievances within society."

Another winner from Ray Xul’s fledgling Head Wound Sadism project arrives in the form of NOW IS OUR TIME. Things start out familiar enough—direct-to-tape meatiness, mono-heavy walling—but then mutating variations start to spawn atop the grinding crunch undercurrent, a momentum that carries into side B’s “Final Stand,” a seething L/R tango complete with serendipitous cross-channel echoes and cathartic delay-clock squawks. Together the two extra-thick cuts don’t even clear twenty minutes, but let’s be honest, the street food snack always hits the spot harder than the overpriced four-course.
